60 - Midvale Upsets Broncos 54-48 (1-9-60)

Midvale's upset of the Tuscarawas Broncos (2-2) (5-4) was staged in a rough and tumble contest on the losers court. The hosts were leading 40-37 going into the final stanza, but the Blue Devils (3-1) (5-5), set for revenge after being trounced 52-30 earlier this season by the Broncos, rose up to outscore Tusky 17-8 in the final period. The Devils had taken the lead 15-9 at the first half, but Tusky roared back to go in front 27-24 at intermission. Ron Breniser led Midvale with 16, while Neal Beans hit 15 and Roger Swinderman 14. Gary Caviness had 13 and Phil Meese 12 for Coach Kermit Smulbach's charges. The Tuscarawas Reserves (9-0) won yet another game by stopping the Midvale Reserves (5-6) 41-35.
