TUSCARAWAS - If the first 2 games of the season are indicative of  the calibre of play of Tuscarawas High's basketball team, Bronco fans should be in for many joyous moments during the 1962-1963 campaign.  Although coming out even in the engagements, Coach Aaron Miller's aggregation looked impressive in both, losing 70-62 to rugged Midvale in the opener and upending a spirited Port Washington club, 68-57 last week.  The Broncos are small, having only 2 cagers over the 6-foot mark, but Miller is hopeful experience and aggressive play will overcome any height deficits.  Graduation claimed 3 regulars, including  All-County performer Phil Meese who led the team in scoring last year with 304 points.  Others gone are Dave Peoples and Jerry Wilson.  Leading the returnees this season are Senior Fred Burmich (5-7) and Sophomorfe Russ McGlothlin (6-2).  Burmich was hotter than mid-August at times last year and wound up with 281 points, second highest  on the team.  McGlothlin came along fast as a Freshman and potted 166 points.  Other lettermen back are Senior Ivan Summers (5-9) and Bob Romig (5-6) and Junior Chuck Reichman (5-8).  The Broncos are counting on McGlothlin and Jeff Maxwell a 6-2 Junior, to do most of the board work.  Other varsity candidates include Seniors Lloyd Wallace (5-7) and Phil Ashkettle (5-10) and Juniors Roger Knisley and Phil Caldwell, both 5-11.  Tusky finished with a 10-10 overall mark last year and is considered a darkhorse for honors in the Tuscarawas County League this year.  Miller, now in his third year at the helm, guided the Broncos to a 13-7 mark in 1960-1961.
