PORT WASHINGTON - The Port Washington Purple Riders (10-8) got balanced scoring here Saturday night to up their season mark with a triumph over a good Coshocton Sacred Heart (12-4) combine, assuring a winning season. With only one game left on the agenda, hosting Malvern next Saturday night, Coach Don Durham's combine led at every stop, 20-12, 39-28 and 50-47 to end its 3-game losing streak. Tom Loader paced a well-oiled Port attack with 17 points. Three others also hit double figures, Larry Laisure canned 14 and Paul Schwab and Wayne Blind each added 12. Bud Kauffman led Coshocton with 24. Port, trailing 8-2 in the early minutes, unleased a fine full court press to stop the Coshocton charges. Both teams hit well from action. Port dropped 27 of 66 for 41 percent and Sacred Heart making 23 of 58 for 40 percent. The Riders had trouble at the foul line; however, sinking only 12 of 28, while Sacred Heart canned 11 of 13.
