MALVERN - Coach Don Clarico's Malvern Green Hornets (4-5) concentrated on defense here Saturday night and came up with a victory over Port Washington's Purple Riders (7-4). Malvern took a 11-6 lead at the initial rest, was in front 27-14 at half-time and led 41-21 after 3 periods before being outscored 20 to 10 in the final quarter. Ron Ebner paced the victory with 18 points, C. L. Andrews added 13 to the cause. Larry Laisure topped Coach Don Durham's club with 13, the only one in double figures. The Port Washington Reserves (5-6) won their 4th straight game after being 1-6 at the start of the season by a score of 29-19 against the Malvern Reserves.
