63 - Conotton Valley Upsets Garaway 61-52 (2-9-63)
LEESVILLE - Conotton Valley's Rockets (4-10) got off the launching pad quickly here Saturday night for an 8-0 lead and set the pace the rest of the way in downing Garaway (8-12) in a mild surprise. The defeat left Garaway with a 3-game under .500 mark as the Pirates brings down the curtain on regular play. Conotton Valley still has 4 games to go before the Harrison County Tournament. Bill Tope led the charges of Coach Dave Scott with 24 points for game honors. Dick Newell chimed in with 15. Geof Stevanus topped the Pirates of Coach Joe Richards with 14. Randy Miller had 12. Conotton led 10-5, 25-17 and 43-28 at the quarter stops. The Rockets were in front by as much as 20 points in the second half before Garaway rallied back in the last quarter. The Garaway Reserves (13-6) had a great season finish with a 44-37 win over the Conotton Valley Reserves.
