63 - Deetz Get 40 As Garaway Falls To Dennison 78-65 (1-19-63)

DENNISON - Garaway's Pirates (7-7) got a record-breaking scoring output from Don Deetz here Saturday night, but still lost a decision to Dennison Railroaders.  Deetz, who had tallied 246 points going into the battle, burned the nets for 15 fieldgoals and 10 foul shots, giving him 40 markers for the night.  The previous Garaway mark was 38 set by Koran Zehnder in 1959-60.  But, Garaway; however, ran into Dennison when the Railroaders were enjoying their best game of the season.  They rolled to a 19-13 lead at the 1st stop, hung on to a 33-30 margin at the half and took advantage of a big 3rd quarter to hold a 54-40 upper hand after 3 stops.  Dennison had a great night from the field, making 31 of 73 action shots for a hot 42.4 percent.  Garaway managed just 23 of 67 for 34.3 percent.  Deetz was the only Pirate in double figures, while 4 Railroaders hit the 2 digit mark.  Fred Lecce led the way with 19 markers.  Nick Cummings hit for 18, Greg Goodrich added 14 and John Neighbor got 12.  The Garaway Reserves (8-5) nipped the Dennison Reserves 38-36.
