63 - Strasburg Downs Lake 77-44 (12-29-62)

STRASBURG - Coach Warren Binder's Strasburg Tigers (6-1) found a big height disadvantage no barrier here Saturday night as they trimmed highly-regarded Lake (3-4) of Stark County.  The Tigers swept to 23-7, 50-14, and 64-28 quarter margins before Binder plut  in his Reserves.  It was the 9th straight victory for the Tigers on home hardwood including last year.  Strasburg, which travels to Midvale Friday in an important Tuscarawas County League engagement, was paced by Senior Adrian Edie who scored 28 points, 23 coming in the first half.  John Peters had 22, getting 16 in the first 2 periods.  The Tigers wasted little time, streaking to a bucket off the tip as Edie drilled a 12-footer home.  The visiting Blue Streaks could not handle a sticky press used by the Tigers as they committed numerous turnovers which the hosts converted into easy buckets.  Strasburg hit on 28 of 78 action shots for 36 percent and 21 of 34 free tosses.  Lake, which averaged 6-2 in height, connected on just 16 of 67 from action for 24 percent and 12 of 26 foul tries.  "It was a great team effort," Binder said.  "The boys shot well and now are getting ready to meet Midvale in what could  decide the league race.  We are expecting a tough game."  Lake leads the  Stark Countyclass "A" League with a 2-0 mark.  The Strasburg Reserves led the sweep by blasting the Dalton Reserves 52-35.
