63 - Gnaden Nips Tusky 70-69 (12-14-62)

GNADENHUTTEN - After trailing all the way, Gnadenhutten (1-0) (2-4) won with 4 seconds left as Bruce Kohl sank 2 foul shots.  The visiting Broncos (0-1) (1-2) led 68-61 with 2 minutes remaining, but the Indian's Larry Rentsch took charge and dumped in 5 of the winners' 6 field goals in the final period  to set the state for Kohl's heroicks.  Tuscarawas, trying for its first win in the Gnadenhutten gym since 1954, was seriously hampered by personal fouls, with three starters sitting on the bench in the fading minutes.  Gnaden won the game  from the field 23-21.  Twenty personal fouls were called on each team.  Kohl and Rentsch paced the winners with 19 and 18 points respectively.  Ed Allensworth added 12 and Leonard Lintner 10.  Fred Burmich led Tuscarawas with 17 points.  Charles Reichman had 13, Russ McGlothlin 12 and Bob Romig 10.  Both teams had good nights from the field, with Gnaden hitting 23 of 53 for 44 percent and Tusky 21 of 51 for 41 percent.  Tuscarawas held 20-18 and 37-34 leads at the first 2 quarters.  The score was knotted 47-all at the end of 3 periods.Murmich, McGlothlin and Summers foluld out for Tuscarawas Gene Bates went via the foul route for the Indians.  No Reserve game reported.
