63 Tusky In Revenge Win 66-52 Against Gnaden (1-12-63)

TUSCARAWAS - The up-and-down Tuscarawas Broncos (5-5) were high in the saddle here Saturday as they turned back Gnadenhutten (4-10) to avenge an early season 70-69 defeat in the Indian teepee. Unable to pry the lids off the hoops the night before, the Broncos found their shooting eyes against their neighbors from Gnaden, leading all the way and posting 19-15, 39-26 and 56-44 quarter margins. A well-balanced attack sparked the victory, to even Tusky's record. Russ McGlothlin led all the way with 18 points. Phil Caldwell had 15 and Ivan Summers 10. Don Garrett led the Indians with 15. Bruce Kohl netted 11. A bewildered Tusky Coach, Aaron Miller, said his defense was the big asset in the victory, limiting the Tribe to but 19 field goals. Miller was still trying to figure out how a team can have 32 turnovers, as the Broncos did against Gnaden and still win. "We had only 9 turnovers Friday night and lost," Miller mused. The Tusky Reserves (4-3) went over .500 by downing the Gnadenhutten Reservers (6-7) by a score of 47-39.
