63 - Stone Creek Gets 1st Win 58-45 Against Warsaw (12-1-62)




STONE CREEK - Coach Ken Lawhun's Panthers (1-3) picked up their first win here Saturday night, tripping Warsaw.  The Panthers took quarter leads of 14-13, 33-24 and 42-34.  Stone Creek hit on 19 of 53 action shots for 35.8 percent and 20 of 37 free throws.  Warsaw connected on 16 of 49 field goals for 32.6 percent and 15 of 24 charity tosses.  Verle Endlich topped the Panthers with 18 points.  Jim Billman had 16.  Dick Guess was high for the losers with 17 markers.  Dan Daher had 11.  "We played together for the first time," Lawhun said.  "Now maybe we'll get our share of wins."  The Stone Creek Reserves (3-1) continued their winning ways by clawing their way to a 40-30 topping of the Warsaw Reserves.
