63 - Tuscarawas Drops Malvern 51-46 (1-5-63)

MALVERN - The avengeful-minded Tuscarawas Broncos (4-3) tasted sweet fruits of victory here Saturday night over a team they had been waiting for since November.  It was a different site and sport, but it still satisfied their desires for token revenge as they edged the Malvern Green Hornets.  The same Green Hornets topped the Broncos by 2 points in football last fall to best Tusky out of the Tuscarawas Valley Coference title.  Saturday night's cage tilt was almost as rough as the grid battle.  Malvern took the worst of it, losing 4 starters on fouls in the fading minutes as 27 personals were called on the Hornets as against 18 on the Broncos.  Tusky won the game at the free throw line, sinking 19 of 38.  Malvern made only 8 of 20.  Phil Caldwell, who,  ironically, missed the Tusky-Malvern grid game due to an injury, led the Broncos Saturday night with 17 points to match his output of Friday.  Chuck Reichman had 10.  Hank Bennett paced the Hornets with 12.  Malvern led 39-32 going  intothe  final quarter.  The Tusky Reserves (2-2) blasted the Malvern Reserves 45-18.
