63 - Strasburg Continues To Roll With 68-56 Over Garaway (1-11-63)




STRASBURG - Both Strasburg (4-0) (8-1) and Garaway (2-2) (5-6) had well-balanced attacks, with all 5 Tigers and 4 Pirates hitting double figures.  Coach Warren Binder's league leaders held slim 17-16 and 29-25 leads at the first 2 stops before getting a little breathing room with a 45-35 margin after 3 periods.  Joh Peters, who got 9 points in the final frame, topped the Tigers with 19 markers.  Don Wallick had 14, Adrian Edie 13, Vic Gessner 12 and Rock Van Fossen 10.  Don Deetz, who popped in 8 tallies in the final period, paced Coach Joe Richards' club with 17 points.  Frank Miller had 13, Geof Stevanus 12 and Randy Miller 10.  Strasburg experienced one of its worst shooting nights of the season, making only 25 of  80 action attempts for 31 percent and 18 of 29 charity tosses.  Garaway had the same number of field goals in 85 tries for 29 percent, but hit on just 6 of 19 foul shots.  In the Junior high game, Strasburg began the nights sweep by ripping Garaway 35-16.  In the Reserve game, the Strasburg Tigers (8-1) powered their way to victory with a 45-26 win over the Garaway Reserves (6-4).
