63 - Strasburg Rolls Over Millersburg 84-65 (1-19-63)

STRASBURG - Coach Warren Binder's powerful Strasburg Tigers (10-1) overcame some ragged defensive work with hot shooting here Saturday night to turn back Millersburg (4-5).  The invading Spartans' point total is the second-highest scored against the Tigers this season, only Midvale topping that with 71.  But Strasburg hit on a hot 49 percent of its action shots and made 16 of 28 from the foul lines.  Millersburg connected on 27 of 71 field goal tries for a good 38 percent and drilled home 11 of 17 charities.  Although leading all the way, the Tigers experienced some anxious moments in the first quarter, taking a slight 25-19 margin at the first halt.  But, they begin to find themselves in the 2nd period, vaulting into a 51-39 cushion at intermission and taking a 65-50 lead into the final frame.  "I guess every coach and team goes through some bad times," Binder said.  "We sure looked ragged on defense.  The  boys were tight and couldn't get lossened up."  All-County performer Adrian Edie paced the win with 28 points.  Don Wallick added 19 and Vic Gessner 13.  High-scoring John Peters was limited to 9.  Lee Leppla topped the Spartans with 23, Lanny Croskey had 15 and Dave Channell 13.  The Strasburg Reserves (10-1) continued to roll as well, cruising to a 56-40 rout of the Millersburg Reserves.
