STRASBURG - Coach Warren Binder's Strasburg Tigers (2-0) started off like a racer from the post here last night and went on to trounce Tuscarawas Valley (1-1).  The Tigers racked up 10 points before the Trojans could register twice.  The hosts then struck for 11 more markers to take a 21-8 lead at the first stop.  Strasburg led 27-20 at intermission and 56-35 after 3 periods when Binder put his Reserves in to mop up.  With Vic Gessner leading the way, Strasburg hit on its first 4 shots from  the field and went on to connect on 34 of 68 for 50 percent.  Tusky Valley, which was just off the mark several times, shot a cold 20.6 percent on 18 of 87.  The Tigers made 14 of 21 from the charity stripe.  The Trojans hit on 18 of 30.  A pressing defense played a major role in the victory, as the Tigers intercepted passes or stole the ball on several occasions.  The Tigers displayed great bench strength, with substitute Sophomore Tom Dreher hitting for 14 points, 10 coming in the final period.  John Peters led the attack with 20 markers.  Vic Gessner had 16 and Adrian Edie 12.  Sub Fred Scherer struck for 9.  Gary Ferren and Dave Widder were the only Trojans in double figures, both getting 11.  "That layoff didn't seem to hurt us too much," Binder said.  "This ball club is ripe and ready to  go.  If we can iron out our mistakes we could go a long  way."  Trojan Coach Bob Heller felt much of the blame for their showing could be attributed to the fact that they haven't practiced since Saturday.  Another factor was that Ferren was bothered by a sore ankle.  Strasburg played without Joe Aul due to an ankle injury.  The Strasburg Reserves (1-1) blew away the Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (0-2) 54-10.
