63 - Midvale Chills Garaway 61-48 (1-25-63)



SUGARCREEK - Coach Pete Hilliard's hot-shooting Midvale Blue Devils (5-1) (12-4) led all the way for their victory over Garaway (3-3) (7-8).  Midvale jumped out to a 14-9 lead at the 1st stop, increased its advantage to 33-17 at the half, and took a 46-30 margin into the final frame.  The Blue Devils enjoyed their best night of the campaign both from the field and at the free throw lines, hitting on 19 of only 38 action shots for a torried 50 percent and sinking 23 of 33 charities.  The Pirates of Coach Joe Richards connected on just 17 of 54 field goals for 31 percent and drilled home 14 of 24 foul tries.  Dean DeMattio led the Blue Devils with 27 points, while Bob Byers followed with 14.  For the Pirates, John Spear dropped in 14 points, who was the only Garaway player in double figures.  The Midvale Reserves (12-3) edged the Garaway Reserves (8-6) 34-29.
