63 - Strasburg Rips Stone Creek 47-23 (1-18-63)

STRASBURG - Coach Ken Lawhun brought his "deep freeze" here from Stone Creek (1-5) (4-11) last night, but the hot-shooting and feracious Strasburg Tigers (5-0) (9-1) refused to be "cooled."  Although having a few anxious moments, Coach Warren Binder's club crawled to a 7-4 lead at the first stop and steadily increased it to 14-10 at intermission and 27-15 after 3 periods.  Strasburg hit on 17 of 41 action attempts for a good 42 percent and made 13 of 17 foul tries.  Stone Creek took only 19 shots, canning 7 for a respectable 39 percent.  Stone Creek hit on 9 of 14 charity attempts.  John Peters led the Tiger attack, getting 15 points.  The only other player in 2 digits was Stone Creek's Jim Billman who had 14.  "The boys looked very good considering this was the first time they've come up against a stall," Binder said.  "They didn't get rattled, but kept their poise and steadily pulled away."  The Strasburg Junior team hammered the Stone Creek team 45-32, while the Strasburg Reserves (9-1) blasted a good Stone Creek Reserve (10-3) team 55-35.
