MIDVALE - The hot hands of Dean DeMattio and Bob Byers spearheaded Midvale's Blue Devils (10-3) here Saturday evening as they socked the Conotton Valley Rockets (0-8). DeMattio protected his 1st place spot in the Tuscarawas County scoring race with 31 markers for Coach Pete Hilliard's crew. Byers chimed in with 20. Ten Devils contributed to the scoring as they raced from a 19-15 first quarter advantage to a 41-22 bulge at halftime. Bill Tope paced the Rockets of Coach Dave Scott with 18 points. The Midvale Junior High team started Midvale's complete sweep Saturday night by crushing the Dennison team 40-12. The Midvale Reserves (10-2) followed this up by trouncing the Conotton Valley Reserves 65-26.
