63 - Gnaden Upends Stone Creek 61-44 (2-8-63)
GNADENHUTTEN - Gnadenhutten (3-5) (7-13) continued its strong finish, notching its 3rd win in its last 4 outings to take a 7-13 mark into tourney play. The Indians held a 14-6 first quarter lead, but Stone Creek (1-7) (5-15) rallied to trail by only 26-24 at the half after leading until the closing minutes of the 1st half. A strong 3rd quarter enabled Gnaden to post a comfortable 50-30 lead after 3 periods. Gnaden's Larry Rentsch took game laurels with 25 points. Leonard Lintner added 12 for Coach Oren Thompson's Indians. Cliff Endlich paced Stone Creek with 15. Ed Wallace and Jim Billman added 11 and 10 respectively. Gnadenhutten hit 24 of 48 from the field for a fine 50 percent mark and sank 13 of 23 foul attempts. Stone Creek netted 10 of 68 from the field for 28 percent and sank 6 of 16 fouls. In the Junior High game, Gnadenhutten won 38-27 over Stone Creek to remain unbeaten. The Gnadenhutten Reserves (9-10) upset the Stone Creek Reserves (14-4) 43-40 to continue the sweep.
