MIDVALE - Rolling to a commanding lead in the first period, Midvale (4-1) won its game Saturday, ripping visiting Gnadenhutten (1-4). Dean DeMattio led the Blue Devils attack with 27 points, while Tom McPherson added 16 and Bob Byers 14. Bruce Kohl scored 22 for the Indians and was the only Gnaden player to hit double figures. Midvale moved to a 23-8 1st quarter lead and increased the margin to 36-16 at the half. Each team scoring 23 in the third stanza, but Midvale harvested 28 in the 4th quarter, while the visitors got 24. The Midvale Reserves (4-0) won this game over the Gnadenhutten Reserves (2-3), but no statistics were provided.
