63 - Gnaden Scalps Baltic 77-64 (1-11-63)




GNADENHUTTEN - The Gnadenhutten Indians (2-3) (4-9) went into a full-court press to overcome a 35-34 halftime deficit and upend Baltic (0-4) (4-9).  Veteran Bruce Kohl led the Tribe on the boards and in the point department.  The 6-2 Junior took game scoring laurels with 26 points.  Terry Huebner had 15 and Gene Bates 10.  Both are Sophomores.  Despite the defensive work of Don Garrett, Baltic's Dick Gerber ended with 24 points for the Eagles.  Dale Stein got 16.  Garrett had limited Gerber to but one field goal with 4 minutes left in the game.  Both teams hit exceptionally well from the field, the Indians of Coach Oren Thompson potting 30 of 55 attempts for 55 percent and 17 of 28 fouls and Coach Errol Jacobs' club hitting on 25 of 57 for 44 percent and 14 of 32 charities.  Gnadenhutten also came up with a sweep for the night.  In the Junior High game, Gnadenhutten won, but no statistics were reported.  The Gnadenhutten Junior High team remains unbeaten so far this season.  The Gnadenhutten Reserves (6-6) picked up their win with a 47-31 victory over the Baltic Reserves (3-9).
