BALTIC - Coach Errol Jacobs at Baltic is relying on speed and hustle in lieu of height this year.  The Eagles have 2 cagers standing 6-foot and one 6-3.  Three Senior lettermen are the mainstays of the team:  Dick Gerber (6-0), Dale Stein (5-11) and Guy Limbacher (5-10).  Gerber undoubtedly will be one of the top scorers in the area this season - at least if he continues his present pace.  In 4 games to date, he has 106 points.  Jacobs, in his second year as head Eagle, has seen his club record a 1-3 mark so far, the only victory being a 72-68 decision over Adamsville.  Baltic has lost to Garaway (68-40), Hiland (69-45) and Three Rivers (64-61).  But, the Eagles put up a real fight against Three Rivers, indicating they may be ready to play some good ball.  This is what Jacobs expected, a slow start, but gaining momentum as the season progressed.  The Eagles ended 11-10 last year and lost 4 top scorers via graduation.  In addition to Gerber, Stein and Limbacher, also back in the fold are Nick Baab (6-3), Tom Matizler (5-9) and Larry Luke (6-0), all Juniors and Bob Hummel (5-9), Gus Regula (5-10), Keith Miller (5-10),  Tim Richardson (5-9),and Gordon Bontreger (5-9) all Sophomores.
