Gnadenhutten High School (Indians) Senior - Gary Rice (18-Points)
LEESVILLE - Conotton Valley (11-2) rode a 23-point effort by Jim Monigold to victory over Gnadenhutten (6-9) here Saturday night. Conotton Valley, under Coach Errol Jacobs, spurted to a 15-6 margin after one quarter and left the floor at the half in front 29-24 as the Indians suddenly came to life. Going into the final frame the Rockets led 45-36. Greg Kurtz backed Monigold up with 14 tallies. Gary Rice potted 18 markers to pace the Oren Thompson-bossed Tribe. Rebounds favored the Rockets, with Jim Sell pulling in 13 and Ken Beaber 12. Conotton Valley, which led all the way, fired in 24 of 58 floor flings for 35 percent and drilled in 9 of 21 charities. Gnaden was 15 for 54 and 28 percent and 13 of 25, respectively. The Indians visit Garaway and the Rockets entertain Hopdale Friday. The Conotton Valley Reserves downed the Gnadenhutten Reserves (4-9) 35-23.
