65 - Gnaden Mugs Tuscarawas 71-69 (12-18-64)

GNADENHUTTEN - Switching its style of play to a fast break in the 2nd half, Gnaden (2-1) (2-3) came back from a 4-point halftime deficit to race to victory over invading Tusky (0-2) (2-3).  In a game battled on close terms all the way, Tuscarawas gained the upper hand at the end of both the 1st and 2nd periods, leading 15-12 and 35-31, respectively.  But, the fast-breaking Indians, battling a decided Tusky advantage on the boards, moved on top 54-47 at the conclusion of the 3rd stanza.  Entering the final seconds, Gnaden owned a 4-point lead.  Indian players just stood by as Bronco Rich Eckhardt swished a fielder in the last second to account for the 2-point difference.  Terry Huebner led the way for the Indians, scoring 19 points.  Teammates Gary Rice and Gene Bates were right behind with 18 and 15, respectively.  But, Russ McGlothlin of Tuscarawas gained the night's scoring laurels, tallying 21 points.  Dave Paisley added 16, Eckhardt 15 and Ray McWilliams 11.  McWilliams and McGlothlin paced Bronco board work, pulling down 12 rebounds apiece as they totaled 46, compared with Gnaden's 34.  Bill Kohl counted 8 rebounds for the Tribe.  Gnadenhutten meshed 26 of 63 field shots for 41 percent and 19 of 33 foul tries for 67 percent.  Tuscarawas hit 24 for 68 from the floor, a 35 percent mark and 21 of 31 free throws.  The Gnadenhutten Reserves (3-4) edged the Tuscarawas Reserves (1-2), 44-41.
