65 - Port Washington Falls Short Against Dennison 54-51 (1-9-65)
PORT WASHINGTON - Dennison High (5-4) rode the 1-2 punch of Jim Povick and Greg Goodrich to a victory over Port Washington (3-8) here Saturday night. Dennison crawled to a 9-6 lead at the 1st stop and came back for a 38-37 margin after 3 periods. Port Washington led 28-26 at intermission. Povick tallied 20 points and Goodrich one less to spark the Railroaders. Leonard Cameron marked up 19 and Dan Gay 16 for the Purple Riders. The game see-sawed back and forth, Dennison going ahead for keeps in the final minute. Port Washington led by 5 points at one point. The Dennison Reserves whipped the Port Washington Reserves (1-5) by 5 points, 25-20.
