65 - Midvale Continues Win Streak With 63-57 Win Against Ridgewood (1-9-65)




MIDVALE - Coach Pete Hilliard tuned up his Midvale basketballers (12-0) for a return engagement with Strasburg here Friday night.  The Blue Devils made Ridgewood their 12th straight victim to remain the area's only undefeated quintet.  Dan Kohler again was the big man for theBlue Devils,  scoring 23 points and snaring 11 rebounds.  His able supporting cast included Terry Leggett and Ted Tolloti with 16 and 10 tallies, respectively, and Bob Carlisle who snared 10 rebounds.  Midvale sank 22 of 55 action attempts for a hot 40 percent and made 19 of 26 charities.  Ridgewood was 23 of 49 for 47 percent and 7 of 13, respectively.  The Blue Devils had to scramble all the way, trailing 12-9 at the 1st stop.  But, they put on their patented man-to-man press from then  on and overtook the Generals, leading 33-30 by halftime and 45-41 goinginto the  final frame.  The Ridgewood Reserves mauled the Midvale Reserves (5-4) 52-38.
