Tuscarawas High School (Broncos) Junior - Dave Paisley (16-Points)
TUSCARAWAS - Bob Burris connected on a fielder and Gary Adams hit a free throw late in the final period for Tuscarawas Valley (1-3) (2-8). The combined effort culimated a come-from-behind victory bid for theTrojans. Tuscarawas (0-4) (4-6) setting an early pace when it went ahead 24-22 at the 1st stop, increased its lead with each succeeding period. The Broncos led 34-29 at halftime and 54-45 at the 3rd halt. But, the Trojans, outscoring the hosts 15-5 and capitalizing on costly Bronco miscues, roared from behind to achieve the victory. With 20 seconds remaining, Burris connected from the field to knot the tally 59-59. And seconds later Adams cashed in from the foul line for what proved to be the victory margin. Adams and Fred Clugston shared scoring honors for the winners on 14 points apiece. Burris hit 12 and Chuck Fishley 11. Tuscarawas also had 4 players in 2 figures. Ray McWilliams and Dave Paisley had 16 points each. Rich Eckhardt had 14 and Russ McGlothlin 13. From the field the Trojans counted 25 shots in 67 attempts, while Tuscarawas made 26 of 60. TV sank 19 of 22 free throws and Tusky 7 of 10. The Broncos travel to Doave St. Joseph's tonight for a game in Dover High Gymnasium. The Reserve game was not reported.
