65 - Gnaden Wins Consolation Honors Over Port Washington 80-67 (12-30-64)
PORT WASHINGTON - Consolation Honors in the 1st Annual Port Washington Holiday Tournament went to Gnadenhutten (3-6) which whipped host Port Washington (3-6). The sharp eyes and hot hands of Gene Bates carried the Oren Thompson-coached Indians to victory, the Senior caging 38 points. Teammate John Parrish added 10. Several others also contributed. High for the George Thomas-coached Purple Riders was Dan Gay with 24. Leonard Cameron added 19. Gnadenhutten canned 49 percent of its action attempts. Port Washington hit on 31 percent.
