65 - Midvale Downs Dennison 70-66 (12-12-64)

MIDVALE - Those mighty Midvale Blue Devils (6-0) continue to roll.  Their latest victim was Dennison (2-2) which fell here Saturday night.  Midvale, which stands alone on Tuscarawas County's unbeaten list, needed a hot night shootingwise; because, Dennison fired in half of its 50 floor shots.  And the Blue Devils went a bit better than their guests, sinking 28 of 48 for a gleaming 58 percent.  At the charity stripes, Midvale was 14 of 16 and Dennison 16 of 22.  Chief point man for the Pete Hilliard-coached Blue Devils was sharpeyed Dan Kohler.  All he did against the Railroaders was bang in 35 tallies on 16 field goals and 3 fouls.  Teammate Terry Leggett followed with 18.  Leading Dennison, under Coach Tom Connor, was Greg Goodrich who meshed 26 markers.  Dean Green got 15 and Jim Povick 14.  Kohler also paced the 2 squads in rebounds, snaring 9.  Green grabbed 7.  Both teams used presses, Dennison employing the zone and Midvale the man-to-man.  The Blue Devils, down 20-17 at the 1st stop, began finding the range inthe 2nd stanza and led 39-32 by halftime.  After 3 periods it was the blue Devils by 52-51.  The Midvale Reserves (2-2) clubbed the Dennison Reserves 50-38.
