Tuscarawas High School (Broncos) Senior - Russ McGlothlin (12-Points)
TUSCARAWAS - Vic Turner exploded for 11 points in the final period to end a closely-fought duel between Stone Creek (3-1) (9-1) and Tuscarawas (0-3) (3-5). With both teams employing man-to-man defenses, the victory until that time had been up for grabs. Stone Creek led at all quarter stops, posting margikns of 10-8, 19-18 and 28-27. In the meantime; however, Tuscarawas held the top runner's slot on a number of occasions and once led by 4 points. Turner, whose last-quarter splurge put Stone Creek over the top, ended with 20 points. Jim Wherley followed with 12. Russ McGlothlin and Rich Eckhardt were the pace-setters for Tuscarawas with 12 and 11 points, respectively. The Stone Creek Reserves (6-0) maintained their unbeaten status by blowing away the Tuscarawas Reserves (1-3) 50-30.
