65 - Gnaden Nips Lakeland 76-75 (1-5-65)

Gnadenhutten High School (Indians) Senior - Terry Huebner (24-Points)

GNADENHUTTEN - Revenge was sweet for Gnadenhutten High's basketballers (4-6) here last night as they whipped Harrison County power Lakeland.  In the Indians' initial game of the season, Lakeland copped a 58-56 nod on its home court.  Terry Huebner and Gary Rice supplied most of the scoring punch for the Oren Thompsen-coached Tribe, scoring 24 and 23 points, respectively.  This potent 1-2 combination overshadowed a great performance by Lakeland's Fred Simpson who burned the nets for 36 markers.  Gnadenhutten, set to visit Strasburg Friday, canned 29 of 60 action attempts for a hot 49 percent, but actually won the game at the charity lines, by sinking 18-of 32.  Lakeland hit on 33 of 79 floor flings for 40 percent and connected on 9 of 18 foul tries.  The Harrison Countians had more rebounds, 42-35, thanks to Simpson's 11.   Bill Kohl snared 13 rebounds for the Indians.  The Lakeland Reserves had won the opening game against the Gnadenhutten Reserves (3-5) 58-48.
