65 - Ramplers Should Like Tusky Court

Tuscarawas High School (Broncos):  RIDE 'EM BRONCOS - Taking time out from their duties as cheerleaders at Tuscarawas High are:  Sandy Lahm (tieing shoe), Linda Henry (left), Melody Rankin,
Theoda Ann Starkey, Elaine Johnson and Jayne Dalcoma.  Their next "job" is Friday against Dover St. Joseph's Ramblers.

TUSCARAWAS - Dover St. Joseph's cagers (0-2) should be "right at home" Friday when they visit Tuscarawas (0-1).  Playing their games in the small and friendly confines of Memorial Hall for years before moving  into Dover High's new facilities last season, the Ramblers should take a liking to the tiny Bronco court.  St. Joseph's dropped a 69-61 decision to Seton Central Catholic in its opener and then was bombed 93-60 by a touted West Holmes quintet.  Tuscarawas lost 87-58 to tough Midvale in its lidlifter, but still expects to have a formidable squad.  Three Broncos hit double figures against Midvale, 6-0 Senior Rich Eckhardt getting 17 points, 6-2 Junior Ray McWilliams 13 and 3-year veteran Russ McGlothlin, a 6-2 Senior, 12.  Also scoring in that game were 5-11 Junior Dave Paisley (5 points), 5-10 Senior Dan Guspyt (8) and 6-0 Senior Ken Rankin (3).  Others on  the roster include:

Senior Gary Cerana, 6-1
Junior Bill Smith, 6-5
Junior Manny D'Ostroph, 5-10
Junior Tim Reed, 6-0
Sophomore Phil Roudebush, 6-0
Sophomore George Summers, 5-9
Sophomore Jim McCauley, 5-10

The Broncos, coached by first-year boss Charles Etling, have good speed and can handle the ball well.  They do a lot of pressing on defense.
