65 - Dennison Whips Garaway 52-43 (1-16-65)

DENNISON - Dennison (6-4) was the byword here Saturday night as Dennison whipped Garaway (7-3).  The Glenn Bower-coached Pirates forged in front 13-12 at the end of a quarter, but the Tom Connor-bossed Railroaders led 28-25 by intermission and 42-37 after 3 periods.  Two quick buckets, by Ron Raber and Dan  Andreas, gave Garaway a 29-28 advantage at 6:10 of the 3rd canto, but the Railroaders moved back ahead and gradually eased to command.  In the final frame the Pirates hit twice early from the foul line, but didn't register another point until 41 seconds were left to play.  Dennison also held the upper hand shootingwise, sinking 20 of 45 action attempts for 44 percent to 17 of 50 and 34 percent for Garaway.  In charities, the Railroaders were 9 of 16 and the Pirates 12 of 22.  Andreas paced Garaway in scoring with 13 points.  Teammate Jim Young added 10.  High for Dennison was Greg Goodrich who notched 22.  Jim Povick contributed 14.  The Pirates will visit Strasburg Friday.  The Railroaders go to Hiland the same night.  The Garaway Reserves (6-2)knocked-off the Dennison Reserves 40-36.
