65 - Strasburg Slams Gnaden 101-60 (1-8-65)
STRASBURG - They didn't make the fastest start in the world this season, but the mighty Strasburg Tigers (3-0) (6-2) are rolling now. They had no trouble at all with the Indians (2-2) (4-7) , racing to quarter advantages of 27-11m 51-31 and 77-46. And anyone who thinks the Tigers won't be tough in the future has another thing coming. For pacing the Tiger attack here last night was Sophomore sensation John Studer who shipped in 29 points, including 14 of 19 field goals and one free throw in one try. Giving the young Tigers able support were veterans Tom Dreher with 24 tallies, Rock VanFossen who contributed 18 and Rick Hall with 12. High for Gnaden was Terry Huebner who mustered 17 and Gene Bates added 11. Studer also did his share of the work under the boards, fighting for 10 rebounds. Hall led the way with 15 snares, John Parris grabbed 9 for Gnadenhutten. Larry Jones was responsible for putting Pete Shahan's lads over the century mark, hitting on a field goal with 5 seconds left in the fracas. Don Gerber played a fine defensive game. The Strasburg Tigers (6-1) managed another win 32-26 against the Gnadenhutten Reserves (3-6).
