65 - Strasburg Burns Dennison 83-70 (12-26-64)

DENNISON - The nets were literally burning here Saturday night as Strasburg (4-2) When the smoke had cleared, the mightand Dennison (3-3) hooked up in a hot-shooting basketball contest.  When the smoke had cleared, the mighty Tigers of Strasburg had wrapped up their 4th victory.  Both teams shot amazingly well from the floor, Strasburg hitting on 36 of 55 action attempts for a blistering 65 percent and Dennison canning 32 of 61 for a hot 53 percent.  At the charity stripes, the Tigers were 11 of 27 and the Railroaders 6 of 16.  Second quarter action actually decided the test, the Pete Shahan-coached Tigers upping a 16-13 first frame advantage to 42-23 by intermission.  After 3 periods it was 66-46.  Fast-breaking, the Tigers took a 12-11 margin near the end of the 1st frame and never were headed.  Each club had 4 players in double figures and Strasburg led in rebounds, 46-40.  Rock VanFossen took game scoring honors, the hot-shooting Tiger finding the range for 26 points.  John Studer added 19, Tom Dreher hit for 16 and Rick Hall contributed 14.  Hall paced the Tigers in rebounds, snaring 18.  High point-producer for the Tom Connor-coached Railroaders was Greg Goodrich with 21.  Dean Green popped in 14, George Dryden had 12 and Bob McCartney hit for 11.  Strasburg visits Tuslaw Tuesday.  Dennison hosts Newcomerstown January 2.  Strasburg (5-1) won the Reserve game 47-42 against Dennison.
