65 - Tusky Stops Port 66-56 In 1st Port Washington Tournament (12-28-64)



PORT WASHINGTON - Stone Creek (7-1) and Tuscarawas (3-3) will square off here tonight at 8:30 in the finals of the 1st Annual Port Washington Holiday Basketball Tournament.  Gnadenhutten (2-6) and the host Purple Riders (3-5) will meet at 7 for consolation honors.  The Broncos upended Port Washington on Monday night.  The nightcap was a nip-and-tuck affair with the Broncos holding 15-10, 35-23 and 53-37 quarter margins, but having to work hard to come out on top.  They pulled away in the final 3 minutes.  Balance was the big difference, 4 Broncos reaching double figures and only 2 Purple Riders.  Bronco Russ McGlothlin, a 4-year veteran, took game scoring laurels with 19 points.  Rich Eckhart got 14, Ray McWilliams 12 and Ken Rankin 10.  Leonard Cameron was high for  Port Washington, meshing 15 markers.  Bob Casteel notched 11.
