62 - Garaway Lowers The Boom On Port Washington 80-40 (12-22-61)

SUGARCREEK - Garaway (1-1) (6-3) didn't wait long to lower the boom against visiting Port Washington (0-3) (3-5).  Coach Glen Bower's charges roared to a 22-5 first-period lead, held a 44-18 halftime margin and then a 65-22 advantage going  into the closing chapter.  Bower cleared his bench with 7 contributing to the scoring parade.  Roy Yoder was high with 20 points, Dan  Bleininger and Don Deetz each meshed 15, and Tom Burkey came through with 13.  Ken Gay paced Port Washington with 10.  The Pirates hit on 30 of 64 shots from the field and 20 of 34 free throws.  Port Washington got off 53 action shots, connecting  on but 15.  The Purple Riders dropped 10 of 30 charity throws.  Garaway swept the night as the Garaway Reserves (4-3) rolled over the Port Washington Reserves (3-3) 47-23 and in the Junior High game, Garaway bombed Port Washington 50-7.
