62 Baltic Clobbers Invaders 111-45 Against Union (1-28-62)
BALTIC - Baltic's Eagles (8-9) ended a 4-game losing streak in explosive fashion Saturday night, humiliating invading Union by going over the century mark. The victory moved Baltic to within range of the .500 mark. It was strictly no contest for Coach Errol Jacobs' Eagles Saturday. With 4 starters scoring 18 points or more, Baltic led all the way. The Eagles poured in 27 points in the first period to take a 19 point lead. They led 53-23 at the half and 76-31 after 3 quarters of play. Willis Mullet hit his high for the season as he gunned in 14 field goals and added 3 charity tosses for 31 points, good for game honors. Larry Kaser and Dick Gerber each had 22 and Dale Lantenschleger tossed in 18 for the Eagles. A total of 9 cagers got in the scoring column. Ed Moran topped Union with 15 counters. Baltic harassed the visitors with a tight pressing defense which was just too much for Union to cope with. The Baltic Reserves (5-6) started off the swept by blasting the Union Reserves 47-27.
