62 - Hiland Soars By Balti 67-46 (1-23-62)
BERLIN - Hiland (12-2), playing host to Baltic (7-8) last night, rushed to its 11 straight triumph by victimizing the Eagles. Paced by Andy Ahijewych's 20 points and John Mullet's 18, Hiland shot into a 17-7 opening quarter lead and then outscored the invaders 19-12 in the next period for a comfortable 36-19 intermission advantge. The Hawks out-pointed Baltic 20-10 in the third stanza. Hiland, which invades Dennison Friday night, hit on 30 of 71 field shots for a 43 percentage, while Baltic meshed but 19 of 65. Hiland grabbed 50 rebounds, with lunky Ahijewych getting 18, and Baltic had 27. The winners cashed 7 of 12 free throws and Baltic 8 of 14. The Eagles, who now at 6-8 for the season, were led by Willis Mullet with 12 points, while Larry Kaser had 11 as did Don Hochstetler of the Hawks. The Hiland Reserves also won their game by dropping the Baltic Reserves (3-6) 38-19.
