62 - Three Rivers Nips Garaway 33-31 (12-15-61)

COSHOCTON - Undefeated Three Rivers, held scoreless in the second quarter, nipped Garaway (4-2) on a wild shot by Tom Lower as the final buzzer sounded.  Garaway raced off to a 11-9 lead in the first quarter and then vaulted to a 20-9 margin at halftime by holding Three Rivers, a Class AA team, scoreless in  the second period.  Three Rivers began to pick up the pace in the third frame to narrow the gap to 25-19.  Garaway had possession of the ball with 10 seconds left in the game, waiting for a final shot with the score tied at 31-31.  The Pirates lost the ball and Three Rivers immediately called time out with just 4 seconds remaining.  Lower's last-second fling dropped through for the victory.  Three Rivers hit 35 percent from the field, canning 15 of 40 action shots, while Garaway netted 12 of 30 for 34 percent.  Three Rivers; however, was particularly hot in the second half action, meshing 12 of 23 shots for a torrid 52 percent.  Haas topped Three Rivers with 10 points.  Lower, the game's hero or villain, depending upon which side you were yelling for, got only 4 points.  Roy Yoder paced Garaway with 10 points.  No mention of a Reserve game.
