62 - Gnaden Scorches Scio 82-59 (1-30-62)
GNADENHUTTEN - Gnadenhutten's Indians (13-5) scorched the nets for 14 of 23 action shots in a torrid second quarter last night to scalp visiting Scio (3-10). The tribe thus becomes the second county team to win 13 games with the other team being the undefeated Dover St. Joseph's Ramblers. The Indians hit on 5 of 11 in the first quarter, but Scio also was hot and the score was tied 17-All at the first stop. The second quarter; however, proved to be all the hosts needed as they racked up 31 points, while limiting the Panthers to but 11. The Indians led 48-31 at the half and 61-44 at the third stop. The Indians also grabbed 31 rebounds. Nine Indians took part in the massacre with Brad Kaser leading the scalping with 18 and Bruce Kohl getting 15, Jim McCreary 12. High scoring Bob Ervin was held to but 9 points. Bill Phillips led the Panthers with 29 points with Gary Crall adding 18. The Gnadenhutten Reserves (11-5) floored the Scio Reserves 40-31.
