62 - Conotton Valley Snaps Strasburg Win Streak At 5 - 76-64 (2-4-62)
LEESVILLE - Improving Conotton Valley Rockets (12-3) rang up its 7th straight victory Saturday, turning back the streaking Strsburg Tigers (10-7) at the Leesville gym. Leading from the outset, the Rockets of Coach Dave Scott thus continued their reign over Tuscarawas County combines. Strasburg being the 6th victim for the Harrison Countians. Conotton led at the stops 18-11, 30-26 and 50-44 in a tight game that was not put on ice until a 26 point spree by the Rockets in the final stanza. Five cagers were in double figures in the free scoring affair. Again using his height to great advantage it was Conotton's 6-8 center, George Kurtz that took game laurels with 21 points, while Don Wallick led Strasburg with 16. The Rockets hit 29 of 72 action flings and 18 of 29 charities, while Strasburg canned 27 fielders in 60 tries and made 10 of only 14 attempts. There were 30 personal fouls called, 19 againsts the invaders. The Strasburg Reserves (5-11) downed the Conotton Reserves 52-46.
