PORT WASHINGTON - Ripping the cords on 61 percent of their shots, the Dover St. Joseph's Ramblers (9-0) notched their 9th straight victory Saturday night by blasting the host Port Washington Purple Riders (3-8).  St. Joseph's, the area's only undefeated club, dashed off to a 15-4 first quarter lead and virtually had the decision wrapped up midway in the second stanza.  Four of Coach Art Tynor's starters scored in double figures, once again led by Tom Young, the top scorer in the area.  The speedy guard tossed in 25 points, while Jack Evans and Nick Pace each potted 22 points.  Bill Held had 12 counters.  "We're improving," commented Teynor.  We're playing better each time out and we're learning things all the time," he added.  Port Washington Coach Don  Durham and his Purple Riders continued to have trouble, losing their 6th straight game.  "We made too many mistakes and just couldn't get started," explained the first-year mentor.  With St. Joseph's dropping in 35 of its 57 action attempts, the Ramblers virtually scorched the nets for 61 percent.  Port Washington managed to connect on 13 of 46 shots for 28 percent.  Larry Laisure paced Port Washington with 8 points.  The game marked the seventh game in which Young had potted 20 points or more and the 5th contest in a row that Evans had followed suit.  In the preliminary contest, the Junior Ramblers (9-0) won their 15th straight decision by clipping the Port Washington Reserves (3-6) 41-37.  Roger Lammers led the attack with 14 points.
