62 - Garaway Has Easy Time With Baltic 63-33 (2-2-62)




SUGARCREEK - Garaway's Pirates (6-1) (13-5) rolled up an early lead and never gave its Baltic (2-5) (8-10) invaders much of a chance after the first quarter.  The Pirates jumped out to a 20-10 first period lead, increased it to 36-24 at the half and made it 52-29 at the end  of 3 quarters.  Dan Bleininger and RoyYoder shared honors for Garaway.  Bleininger tossed in all 15 of his points in the first half to spark Garaway and then Yoder pitched in 13 counters in the second half to lead the way.  Yoder won game honors with 17 points, while Bleininger had 15 and Geof Stevanus and Don Deetz each had 10.  Willis Mullet scorched the nets for 16 first-half points for Baltic, but could net only one more point to finish with 17.  He was the only Eagle in double figures.  Garaway canned 25 of 66 shots from the field for 38 percent.  Baltic connected on 14 of its 48 action attempts for 28 percent.  The Garaway Reserves (9-6) beat back the Baltic Reserves (5-7) 31-25.
