62 - Strasburg Squeaks Past Stone Creek 42-39 (1-19-62)

STONE CREEK - Strasburg's Tigers (2-3) (7-6), trailing by 3 points with time running out, rallied to trip Stone Creek (1-5) (2-11) in a battle for 4th place in the loop standings.  The game was netually decided at the foul line where Strasburg dropped in 14 of 27 tosses for 52 percent.  Stone Creek, for the second week in a row, had a miserable time at the charity stripe and could make only 11 of 23 attempts for 48 percent.  Strasburg jumped off to a fairly comfortable 12-7 first quarter lead and held on for a 26-22 halftime edge.  Stone Creek rallied to tie the score at 31-31 after 3 quarters of play and then went ahead late in the game.  John Peters tied the game for Strasburg with a fielder and Don Wallick and Vic Gessner hit from the foul line for the winning margin.  Jim Clymer paced Strasburg by dropping in 12 points.  Gessner had 10.  High for Stone Creek was jim Billman with 9.  Stone Creek made 14 of 53 from the field for 26 percent, while Strasburg hit on 14 of 57 for 21 percent.  The Strasburg Reserves (2-11) trashed the Stone Creek Reserves (0-8) 35-29.
