62 - Tusky Halts Stone Creek 84-71 In Final Home Tilt (1-28-62)

TUSCARAWAS - The Tuscarawas High School Seniors made their final home appearance of the season an impressive one Saturday Night as the Broncos (8-6) rolled over Stone Creek 84-71 in a non-league affair.  The off-beaten Panthers of Stone Creek (2-14) refused to play-dead however as they stayed with the hosts for 3 quarters before Tusky rose up and won going away.  Phil Meese, in his 4th year of vasrsity action led the charge with 29 points, while Ivan Summers potted 14, Jerry Wilson 13 and Fred Burmuch 10.  Cliff Endlich enjoyed his best productive night for Stone Creek as he potted 28 points, 10 of which came at the foul liine as he missed only one chance.  Hamilton followed with 17 points in the high scoring affair.  The Broncos, who have only 2 games left---at Strasburg and Newcomerstown.  Both teams enjoyed top shooting.  Tusky dropping 38 of 74 action flings for 51 percent and Stone Creek hitting 26 of 54 for a torried 49 percent.  The Tuscarawas Reserves (7-7) also won their game over the Stone Creek Reserves (0-10), who have yet to win a game, 31-21.

NOTE:  The Port Washington Purple Riders (4-11) battled with Fresno on the same date, with Fresno winning.  The score was unknown as the research discovered was not legible.  The only thing known is the winner (Fresno) and that Alvin Fillman scored 11 points followed by Tom Loader with 10.
