62 - Garaway Romps At East Canton 74-49 (2-11-62)
EAST CANTON - Roy Yoder went on a one-man scoring spree here Saturday night to lead Garaway (14-5) to a decisive victory over East Canton (5-12). Yoder stuffed in 27 points, his career high to challenge the school scoring record of 38 points. With the hot-shooting Yoder leading the way, Garaway tallied 30 points in a hectic first quarter which saw the Pirates all but wrap up the game. They led 30-14 at the stop, 42-28 at the half and 53-39 after 3 quarters. Garaway is scheduled to play Tuscarawas Valley (2-15) tonight in a bid for it's share of the Tuscarawas County League Championship. Yoder was backed up ably by Geof Stevanus and Don Deetz, who netted 19 and 12 points respectively for Garaway. Buzz Kradall with 19 and Bob Farnsworth with 14 were high for East Canton. The Garaway Reserves (10-6) rode to victory over the East Canton Reserves 42-32.
