62 - Dennison Blasts Port Washington 78-46 (2-4-62)

DENNISON - Evo Marini stole the show Saturday night at Dennison's gymnasium as the Railroaders (12-4) steamrolled over Port Washington (5-12) for the 2nd time this year.  Marini, a 6-2 Senior, was unstoppable in the first half as he hit on 9 of 12 action shots to give the Railroaders a bulging 36-19 halftime edge.  Marini added 9 points in the second half and wound up with 27 points, a career high.  Actually, it was the second and final quarters thaqt provided the Railroaders with their third win in a row.  Dennison hit on 10 of 16 shots in each of these quarters, while Port could manage only 4 field goals in each.  The Railroaders ended with 33 out of 71 shots for 46.7 percent.  The 33 field goals represents a season high, while the 78 points is their second best effort of the season.  They topped that once, when they walloped Augusta 80-21.  Port ended with 18 out of 50 for a respectable 36 percent.  Following Marini's 27 points and Dick Selzer's 14 were John Neighbor with 15, Bob Whitmire with 9 and Fred Lecce with 8.  Tony Nigro, a 6-1 Senior, topped Port with 13, while Tom Loader added 10.  In the Reserve game, Dennison mangled Port Washington (4-10) 64-24.
