62 - Baltic Trips Up West Lafayette 57-49 (12-29-61)
BALTIC - Baltic's red hot Eagles (6-4) poured it on in the fourth quarter to trip West Lafayette last night. After leading throughout the first half, the Eagles ran into trouble after the intermission break. Baltic led 13-5 and 24-18 at the first 2 quarter stops, but the Generals from West Lafayette tied it up at 37-All as the final period opened. The Eagles rose to the occasion; however, to outscore the invaders 20-12 to wrap up the victory. Outscored from the field, Baltic made 15 foul shots to just 5 for West Lafayette to account for the winning margin. Dick Gerber paced the Eagles, netting 9 field goals and 3 bonus tosses for 21 points. Dale Lautenschleger had 11 points and Larry Kaser accounted for 15. Ron Boyce topped West Lafayette with 21 counters, while Gary McElfresh netted 12. The Baltic Reserves (3-4) stopped the West Lafayette Reserves 38-32.
