62 - Strasburg Romps 66-31 Over TV (1-26-62)

STRASBURG - A tremendous defensive performance and a second half display of torrid shooting carried Strasburg (3-3) (9-6) to its decisive victory over Tusky Valley (2-4) (2-11).  The win was the third straight for Coach Warren Binder's Tigers.  Binder pinpointed Strasburg's success last night to a stingy defense which limited the invading Trojans to just 43 shots.  Tusky Valley was able to hit on only 10 of those attempts for a cold 21 percent.  Strasburg trigged 65 shots and 25 of them fell through the hoops for 38 percent, but the Tigers hit almost 60 percent from the field in the second half.  Strasburg started slowly, in fact Tusky Valley held the lead midway in  the first quarter.  The Tigers grabbed a slim 12-9 lead as the period closed and then rapidly increased it to 27-16 at intermission.  The Tigers led 46-26 at the end of 3 quarters.  Three Strasburg cagers found double figures.  Adrian  Edie led the way with 16 markers, followed by Jim Clymer with 13 and Vic Gessner with 11.  The Strasburg Reserves (3-11) surprised the Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (9-3) 35-27.
