62 - Midvale Cops 10th Win At Scio 73-61 (1-9-62)




SCIO - The Midvale Blue Devils took time out from their league last night to visit Harrison County and pick up their 10th win of the season over Scio (2-6).  Tied at 15-All after the first quarter and leading only 32-25 by halftime, the Devils of Coach Pete Hilliard waxed hot in the third stanza to outscore the hosts 26 points to 11 for a comfortable 58-36 advantage.  Scio came back strong in the final stanza to outscore Midvale 25-15, but it proved too little, too late.  A well-oiled attack paced the once-beaten countians with Neal Beans and Mike Page leading the parade with 19 and 18 points respectively, while Dean DeMattio and Jim Tidrick had 13 and 10 respectively.  Bill Phillips topped Scio and took game honors with 24 points.  The Devils went without regular Rick Belknap last night.  Belknap was not dressed due to a knee injury suffered against Strasburg Friday.  The Midvale Reserves (10-1 picked up yet another victory against the Scio Reserves 51-46.
